Hotel and housekeeping jobs

Housekeeping is the hospitality wing of cleaning. Room attendants service a corridor of rooms against the clock, typically 15 to 25 rooms a shift depending on the hotel's standard, with a strict routine per room: strip, make, bathroom, dust, hoover, restock. Shifts run mornings into early afternoon, timed between checkout and check-in, which makes housekeeping one of the few cleaning niches with sociable daytime hours as standard.

The employer mix runs from independent hotels to the big chains and outsourced housekeeping providers. City hotels recruit year-round; coastal and holiday-park operators staff up hard for the season and some offer live-in packages. The step from room attendant to floor supervisor to head housekeeper is a genuine management ladder, and head housekeepers in large hotels run departments of dozens.
